When designing or set building involving cylindrical or part cylindrical shapes have you ever considered using cardboard tubes? We specialise in supplying tubes in various forms for the TV, film, advertising, conference, exhibition and shop display industries.

Our cardboard tubes will surprise you in a number of ways.

Uses
To fuel your imaginations select "uses and users" for a sample of some of the past uses or our tubes. Through projects with design colleagues prototypes for lighting systems and furniture (display cabinets, shelving system and chairs) have been produced. In addition we wish to encourage designers and others to widen the boundaries or recognised uses for tubes.

Finish
The outer surface can be covered with a decorative finish. They are also smooth enough to take most paint finishes direct but can be covered with lining paper if required.

Strength
During construction the cardboard tube can be sawn, screwed or stapled. In drum form it is quite capable of supporting items as heavy as, say, a washing machine.

As and area we specialise in, your order is given priority. Like any other manufacturer we prefer as much notice as possible, but often have provided a same or next day service.

Fire Rating
The tubes are made or multi-layers or cardboard compressed together. In itself not very combustible, but a simple application of fire retardant liquid, such as Broguard, will satisfy and recongnised test for fire resistance.

Price
While there are bound to be exceptions, the cardboard tube can offer significant savings over other means of creating cylindrical forms.

Construction
Piling Tube
Designed for use in areas where ground heave is expected. The special slip coating allows for movement of clay around the pile, thus greatly reducing stress normally transferred through the pile.
Rigidity
The surface area of the pilling tube is manufactured in such a way that it will maintain its circular form and smoothness after pouring. The mouth of the pile needs no extra support during pouring and will not expand under loading unlike plastic tubes.

Standard diameters are available from stack in small quantities. For specialist sizes or large quantities please contact our offices for lead times and prices.
Delivery
We are able to offer a Nationwide delivery service on a next day basis for stock items. For larger orders please phone to discuss, we have in the past exported tubes to Ghana and to Gibraltar.
Pile Caps
A cheaper option of extending steel casing or traditional formwork.
Void Formers
The strength of the cardboard tubes comes to the forefront in this application. Our manufacturing range has allowed us to offer solutions for the M16 building, crash barrier support posts and bridge deck voids.
Disposable Lined Column Formers
Disposable Lined Column Formers are innovative, inexpensive, fast simple to erect and produce a high class finish with no spiral marks.
Speed - Supplied ready to use each column can be erected in about 15 minutes, and dismantled in about 10 minutes.
Economy - Low initial cost, coupled with speed and simplicity of erection, makes these column forms a very economic investment for small or large numbers of columns.
No minimum order level - Diameters from 50mm to 660mm larger by negotiation. Available in single lengths from 76mm to 12 meters.

Fireworks
The emphasis of our production for the industry has always been on quality and safety. Each tube to be used for pyrotechnics is specially made for this purpose. While the nature of the use of these tubes prevents us from guaranteeing their lifespan and independent test however proved that our tubes surpassed the firing performance anticipated by BS 7114. In addition we have heard of two examples that illustrate the quality or out tubes. Following an unfortunate incident, Trading Standard Officers undertook and investigation. Part of their work involved test firing our tubes, including the deliberate inversion or a shell to fire it within the tube. The tube withstood the explosion. In addition, we were also informed of a 300mm shell that marooned within one or our tubes. The tube took the explosion and was still serviceable. We also supply candle pots, mine pots, and catherine wheel spindles.

Mailing Tubes
Need to package large sheets or a special product. We are able to offer plastic plugs as a closure for the following diameters. They are supplied in white as standard, colour options are available at a premium. When calculating the length of tube required please allow room for end caps. This is approximately 38mm up to 203mm diameter, 60mm for 254mm and 80mm for 305 diameter. All tubes are made to order and we are able to deliver your specific tube within 3-5 days from the date of order with the following options:

• Single colour print with your company logo, product name etc.

Industrial Tubes
Primarily for use as reel centres, our manufacturing range allows us to produce cores for a range of materials from foam underlay and papers through to 12 tonne reels of steel where the tube not only acts as a feel centre, but also protects the inner layers of steel during handling. Special applications have seen many of our tubes end up as bass tubes in car boots. After working with some of the worlds top audio specialists we have now expanded this application to include the high quality end of the market for use at cinemas, concert halls, studios and home audio market.
